What we focus on now, is working with youth groups across all key stages, (age groups 3 – 17) around the North East and have recently been involved in organising dance festivals at various different venues for the youth groups involved.

The dance styles on offer are: Ballet, Hip hop/Street, Line Dancing, Salsa, Belly Dancing, Contemporary and Tap, creative and choreographic sessions are also available. (See technique pages)

Freelance Dance does not work to an Exam syllabus. We want dance to be liberal, free and most of all FUN! We offer the youth groups a chance to perform at various venues throughout the year.

School Hire

For a school to hire us in for our services £30 per hour.

We have our own Dance School, which is based at Newcastle Upon Tyne Church High School in Jesmond.

At the moment it is open only to the students of Church High School. The Dance Academy consists of many different dance styles, Ballet, Hip hop, Line Dancing, Salsa, Contemporary and Tap (to name but a few), creative and choreographic sessions will also be available.

The Academy will not work towards exams, but we will be working towards show cases and performances.

We feel that dance is of vital importance for children, it can help nurture social skills, confidence, encourage creativity, and team work, show a different way of communicating. It helps physical fitness, and it can also be a way of releasing built up anger and tension. And it’s fun! Basically, dance is a great way of beginning and continuing a healthy life style.

Autumn Term 2010

Starts week commencing 13th september and runs until week commencing 13th December (inclusive)

Nursery, Mondays 2.30 - 3.30pm = £91 for full term

Infants, Thursdays 3.30 - 4.30pm = £91 for full term

Juniors, Thursdays 4.30 - 6pm = £136.50 for full term

Other classes on offer

We also offer the above dance techniques at various different venues around Northumberland and the North East to anyone of any age!

Belly dancing and Salsacise above all is certainly in demand at the moment so I am hoping to add a few more of these classes to my schedule (see time table/calendar/venues).

Learning difficulties

Am I specially trained in working with people with learning difficulties.

I work part time with a company called TIN Arts, www.tinarts.co.uk

This company is based in County Durham, but again we travel round the region offering dance workshops as a drop in session or as an on going project in this community.
